All of Elsa's puppies have gone to their Furever homes. We feel so blessed to have been able to meet so many wonderful families. We genuinely hope each family continues to stay in touch with us. So many great reports already, this was such a smart bunch of pups! We cant wait to see how they continue to grow.
Monkey is now "Marley" and went to live with the Leati family.
"He's such an angel and has the sweetest temperament"
Beary went with the Ivanova family. They named him "Otso" (which means bear in Finnish) "We've taught him some commands, and he learns quickly. He's also very playful, and loves when we brush his hair"
Lamby is now "Daisy" and went to live with the Lampasona family."Daisy did so good! She slept through the night and has been following our little one around"
Heres Sunshine with her Lovely family! Sunshine was Birdy."We are so grateful to you and your family for raising our little sunshine. She really is a dream come true. She's such a big sweetheart and loves running around with the kids. We love her so much."
Oh how we miss this little guy! Moosey is now "Fozzie" he went to live with the Puccio family. "Fozzie is a very happy active boy. He loves to run and is getting use to swimming"
Little bunny is now "Luna" here she is with her sweet family."Thank you so much for crate training her, she goes into it on her own to take naps and its her little happy place"
Elsa’s puppies are 7 weeks old today! Time has gone by so fast! We cant believe these babies will be leaving us in a week. Each one of these pups is so special. When they leave, a small piece of our heart will go with them.
We had a busy week, baths, brushings, nail trims. Lots of socialization with different types of people. Each pup is now in an individual crate during crate time. Some are just fine with it and calmly chew on their pig ear while their still awake to soothe themselves. A few are still not happy about it, but thats pretty normal for this age and we will continue to work on this throughout our final week with them.
We weighed everyone today and here are the weights at 7 weeks.
*This is important if size matters to you as some will be true mediums and others will be small standards.
Bunny 6 lbs 2 oz (the smallest)
Birdy 7 lbs 2 oz (Birdy looks bigger than she is with her fluffy thick coat)
Monkey 7lbs 5 oz (Our smallest boy)
Foxy. 7lbs 13 oz
Lamby 8 lbs (the biggest girl, but not by much Lamby has a big thick fluffy coat as well)
Moosey 8lbs
Beary 8lbs 4 oz
Wolfy 9lbs
Temperament testing was also done today and here are the results as well as a few notes on each pup.
Wolfy - Our gentle giant, Wolfy is a big teddy bear! He will most likely grow to be standard size rather than medium. He scored mostly 4's and 5's on his test because he is a bit more reserved and a little shy. Wolfy will make a great pet for a family with older children. Once he is comfortable with you he is a giant teddy bear.
Bunny - Bunny our tiny girl! She will most likely be a true medium with a smaller build. She doesn't let being the smallest stop her though, this little girls got spunk. We love watching her hold her own with her big brothers. Bunny scored mostly 3's and 4's on her test. Bunny will be a great fit for a family with younger or older children. She will do well with training and exercise.
Moosey - Moosey is the goof ball of the group. Hes got so much personality and is very bright! Hes very curious and into everything! Moosey scored mostly 2's and 3's Moosey will thrive with a family that is dedicated and commited to training classes.
***We strongly believe Moosey will be best suited for a family or individual with experience with dogs, we will not place him in a home unless we feel the family is up to the task and is knowledgeable and able to provide the appropriate amount of structure for him as that will be what he needs in order to thrive***
Beary - Also very bright, Beary has lots of energy and will love a family that will take him for long walks (or even runs) We nicknamed this little guy "the flash" very early on as he was scooting around the pin so quickly even before he could walk. He still has that great energy about him. He scored 3's and 4's Beary will do well with a family with children of any age. Beary will also be very successful with obedience classes.
Monkey - This little guy is such a sweet heart, he gets loads of compliments on his beautful coloring, hes not only looks. Monkey is a sweet boy, he can be a little shy at first but warms up quickly. Monkey scored Mostly 3's and 4's and will also do well in a family with children of any age.
Lamby - This little pup is just the sweetest most gentle little girl. Lamby scored 4's and 5's because she is a little bit more shy. She seems to like children more than adults, Lamby particularly developed an attachment to our 3 year old, shes more comfortable following her around the house then us. Even though Lamby is a bit shy, we think Lamby will do well in a family with children as it just seems to be what she prefers. (granted the children learn how to be kind and calm with her)
Birdy - Birdy girl is so much fun! She loves to run around and chase her brothers, and then suddenly will be quite content settling down for a good snuggle. Birdy scored mostly 3's and 4's with a couple 2's. Birdy will do well with a family with children of any age.
Foxy - Mostly 3's for Foxy girl.
***Foxy will be staying with us and pending she pass all her health testing will one day become a mama for our program!***
Intrerpreting the scores:
Birdy, Foxy, Beary, Bunny, and Monkey all scored Mostly 3's and 4's
"For that first time, wonderfully easy to train, potential star, look for a puppy that scores with mostly 4's and 3's"
Moosey had some 2's which means he has leadership aspirations. Will do well with a strict schedule and lots of exercise and lots of training. Has the potential to be a great show dog with someone who understands dog behavior.
5's Lamby and Wolfy each had a few 5's they are both more timid and reserved. They will probably just take a little more time to warm up and get used to new experiences or people.
*We will send out individual emails tomorrow with more information about this coming Satuday which is take home day!
Here they are at 7 weeks...
Its been a busy week! Today the pups went for their 6 week check up. We are happy to report everyone got a clean bill of health! Microchips, first set of shots and deworming was all done today. Everyone was so well behaved! They are so used to car rides now that we barely heard a peep during the drive, as they were all so relaxed. They are very focused on humans at this point, tracking us and sitting nicely for attention. All of them love to be held and relax easily when sitting on someones lap. We continue to work on crate training, and will continue to work on it over the next 2 weeks until they are resting and learning to entertain and comfort themselves in a crate. The hardest part is being away from their siblings, this is such a hard, but necessary adjustment and they will need to adjust again some more when they leave their pack and go to their forever homes. Here they are at 6 weeks.
Elsa‘s puppies are 5 weeks old now. We had so much happening this week! Regular visits outside to potty are becoming the norm. They love to tromp around and play with each other in the grass, although it dosnt last long, after about 30 minutes they are ready for another nap! They really dont react anymore to scary sounds, babies crying, fireworks, hammering, vacuums and more. All the sound desensitizing has done its job as they are becoming confident little pups! We have introduced a leash to them and most have taken to it quickly, this is a smart bunch of pups! Here they are!
Elsa‘s puppies are four weeks old! They are becoming more and more active, starting to play with each other and Interacting more with us. They enjoy people time, but are still very focused on Elsa. They are eating kibble a few times a day now, but mama is still in their pen regularly to nurse. Once they are completely weaned, they begin bonding to humans, a natural transition. We are continuing to work on sound desensitization and lots of socialization. Challenging them daily with new experiences. They‘re introduced to a crate this week, gate stays open, non threatening. Eventually we will graduate to individual crate training where they are alone and apart from their litter. (That will be the hard part)
As they get more mobile, the group photos start to get harder!
The puppies are 3 weeks old now and doing wonderful. What a difference a week makes! They are up on all fours walking and even starting to play with each other now that eyes are opened. They have completed the Bio-Sensor program and it has done its job. They are so calm and relaxed, not jumpy or squirmy when picked up. We're starting sound desensitizing as they can hear now. Everyone continues to eat well. Some size differences are becoming more apparent. Lamby, who was the smallest has caught up to her siblings, and Monkey is now the little one in the group.
Moosey, Monkey, Foxy, Birdy, Wolfy, Lamby, Bunny, and Beary.
The Cute Cuddly Crew is 2 weeks old today! They continue to gain weight daily, they are becoming more active too! We are starting to see them stand up on all fours as they are getting ready to walk! Noses and foot pads are continuing to darken. They still cant see but eyes are starting to open. Lamby was the first to open her eyes, Beary was right behind her, the rest will follow soon. Hearing will come at around 3 weeks. These babies are getting cuter by the day, lots of nice markings on many of them. The Cute Cuddly Crew is the Cutest!!!
Birdy, Wolfy, Lamby, Beary, Foxy, Moosey, Bunny, Monkey
The Cute Cuddly Crew is 1 week old today! Mama continues to do a wonderful job! Her pups are gaining weight daily, so strong they are already scooting about the pin. We are continuing with the Bio-Sensor program, giving them daily holding time, and lots of massages. We are getting them comfortable with being held and cuddled. Noses and foot pads are starting to darken. Lots of eating and sleeping for now. Eyes and ears still closed, we will be watching for eyes to open later in the week.
