Foxy’s pups are 7 weeks old, and that means it’s time for puppy selection! It’s always a lot of fun to see which families and people feel a connection with which puppies.
Every single one of these puppies is amazing and just like each home they will be going to is a bit different and wonderful in their own way, so is each puppy!
We had the privilege of welcoming some wonderful families and individuals for visit day last weekend. It’s always so nice to meet and chat with the each and every one of you.
The puppies had their first set of shots and wellness checkup today with our vet.
The whole group did wonderful on the car ride to and from sleeping most of the way. Everyone received a clean bill of health from our vet and lots of praise for how well behaved and calm they were!
Bath day was yesterday and everyone is doing so great. We try to give them the full Salon experience. A warm bath, then a brush out and blow dry on the grooming table, nail trim, and even a little sanitary trim (if needed). All this helps them to be familiar with the experience so they are not fearful when they have their first grooming experience at the groomer, or in your home. Even the ones who are not as thrilled at the idea of the blow dryer like Honor, Freedom, and Stars and getting more comfortable. They let me know they are a little nervous by giving lots of kisses 🥰
They also met with Torrie from Its Only Love Dog training for their temperament assessment. They all did absolutely fantastic, the overall note was how social and all around friendly and sweet the whole group was. Nothing concerning was noted for any of the temperaments. “For that first time, wonderfully easy to train, potential star, look for a puppy that scores with mostly 4’s and 3’s” -
Here they are at 7 weeks Foxy’s America the Beautiful Litter!
We instantly fell in love with America, she has a super fluffy Caramel coat, adorable brown nose, and beautiful hazel eyes. She has a super fun personality, shes so friendly and playful, but also loves to be held and cuddled.
America will likely grow to be around 30-35lbs
She scored - mostly 3’s and 4’s on her temperament testing.
Glory has a dark rich red colored coat with some white markings on the top of her head, under her chin, and her chest. Glory is a spunky, sweet little girl and loves to play. She will surely keep her new family entertained with her sweet silly personality.
Glory is one of the smaller in the bunch and should grow to be about 20-25lbs
She scored mostly 3’s and 4’s on her temperament testing.
Stars is a sweet little observer, she is often sitting on the sidelines when her siblings are wrestling, preferring to watch. Stars is playful one on one with us humans, and seems to really love children. She is also an absolutely amazing snuggler and has fantastic eye contact as if to show she is waiting to see what you want, and is eager to please.
Stars is also one of the smaller ones and will likely grow to be about 20-25lbs
She scored mostly 3’s and 4’s on her temperament testing.
Justice reminds me so much of her mama. She has that beautiful deep rich red coat, and has such a friendly personality. She likes to wrestle around with her siblings, but then will come right back to us for snuggles when she’s done playing. She was such a great girl during bath time and sat like the prettiest little princess when it was time to take her photo (it sounds like such a simple thing but getting a puppy to sit still for a photo can be quite a task!)
Justice, like her other two sisters should grow to be 20-25lbs.
Justice scored mostly 3’s with a couple 4’s and 5’s on her temperament testing..
It has been so much fun to watch Liberty develop over these past weeks. She went from being one of the most shy in the litter to being such a friendly and outgoing girl! She is always in the mix playing with her siblings, but is always happy to trot up to greet us humans. Liberty is a happy go lucky, social, and cheerful little girl.
Liberty should grow to be about 35lbs
And scored mostly 3’s and 4s on her temperament testing .
Honor how could someone not fall in love with this little guys face. Honor has a brown nose and is a handsome chocolate boy with white markings.
Honor is another one that prefers to stay out of the wrestling pile and is lower energy than the other boys. Honor is gentle, sweet, and just a super happy little guy.
Honor should grow to be about 35lbs
Honor scored mostly 3’s and 4’s on his temp testing.
Patriot is a sweet and confident pup. He is a friendly boy that loves to play.
He has a beautiful rich red coat with lots of white markings on his chest.
Patriot is one of the larger pups in the group and should grow to be about -35 lbs he scored all 3’s and 4’s on his temperament testing
Freedom is the leader, he is so playful and just a really fun pup to not only play with, but he’s a lot of fun to watch too! He’s always in the mix with his siblings and is just so full of joy he loves other dogs and is a little social butterfly. He is a very bright boy and will certainly keep whoever chooses him entertained with his charming personality.
Freedom will likely grow to be between 25-30lbs
Freedom scored mostly 3’s with a few 4’s and 5’s on his temperament test
Stripes is another one that is super even tempered. He loves to play but loves it when you scoop him up and put him on his back like a baby. He has the most handsome apricot and white tuxedo coat He is right in the middle size wise and should grow to be between 25-30lbs
Stripes scored mostly 3’s and 4’s on his temperament testing
Foxy’s babies are 6 weeks old! They are enjoying more frequent trips outside (every 2-3 hours now) and playing with each other a lot.
They cycle between short burst of energy and then nap time. Sleep is still a very big part of their day and will continue to be even after they go to their furever homes. Up until about 14 weeks your pup may want to sleep for as much as 18-20 hours a day! There’s a reason for that, their brains are still so rapidly developing they need all that extra sleep 😴
We introduced a crate to the pups last week, (non threatening with the door open) some of the pups are already willingly climbing in for a snooze. It is such an important thing for the pups to be familiar with, a crate is a cozy place for puppy to go and for you to know puppy is safe, it is also so important for any kind of travel. By the end of week 7 the goal is to have each pup sleeping for short periods of time comfortably in their own crate with the door closed.
The pups are almost weened from Mama, still getting about 1 quick meal a day Before mama tells them they’re done.
It’s amazing how nature works, we don’t ever pull Mama from babies. Mama just knows when the nursing period has run its course and she lets her babies know when it’s time. Foxy is such a wonderful Mama!
This coming week is a busy one for the crew, the pups will go to the vet for their health check and first set of vaccines. They will also meet with our trainer for a temperament assessment (we’re pretty confident everyone is going to do wonderful).
The 7 week pupdate will be the big one, Saturday the 16th is selection day so we will do our best to include as much information as possible in that one. I don’t know how anyone will choose because they are all amazing. Here they are at 6 weeks!
Foxy‘s babies are five weeks old and really coming into their own!
All the pups are thoroughly enjoying the outside. The more confident ones like Freedom, and Glory, strutted out to explore right away, while the more cautious ones like Stars, Stripes, and Honor waited and took their time observing before exploring.
We are starting to see their sweet little personalities, a few observations this week; Glory, and Freedom who are each the smallest of their gender don’t let that stop them, Freedom has become quite the little leader, Glory is also not at all afraid to wrestle with her bigger siblings.
Justice, America, and Stripes are all wonderful observers, it’s always a great sign when a pup has good eye contact. Honor and Patriot are both happy little boys that just wanna play. Stars is as sweet as can be she has the cutest most unique bark. We’ve started to call her kitty because the little sounds she makes are halfway between a meow and a bark. Lastly, Liberty has been such a joy to watch in this last week. She went from being super shy to really coming out of her shell. She is an absolute sweetheart and already is showing what a snuggly affectionate little lovey she is. There is so much more development to come… here they are at 5 weeks, our America The Beautiful Litter!
Foxy’s America The Beautiful litter has turned 4 weeks old, which means half the time we get with this sweet bunch, has already passed.
We’ve expanded their playpen to give them more room as they are becoming much more mobile. They are no longer the shaky wobbly pups they were last week. They are even getting really good at playfully wrestling each other and we are starting to see what a sweet group this whole litter is!
We have a whole crew of happy cheerful little pups! Lots of wagging tails and sweet puppy kisses are what we are greeted with regularly now.
This week is going to be a busy and very exciting one for the bunch, they will begin to make trips outside and explore the world around them (our yard) where they will have lots of new an exciting things to see, smell, hear, and feel which is so important for their rapidly developing brains and bodies. They will also have their very first taste of puppy mush! Mama continues to be a nurturing and attentive mama she will continue to nurse them in the coming weeks but will gradually slow down and then stop as they shift from mamas milk to puppy mush.
That transition will begin this week and last for the next 2-3.
Everyone Is doing wonderful, Foxys 9 babies are such a joyful little bunch!
For those on this reservation list, check your inbox for our 4 week email that went out earlier this morning with our puppy checklist and a few reminders/notes about our upcoming dates. Here they are at 4 weeks, Foxy’s America the Beautiful Litter!
The puppies are 3 weeks old! This week is always such a fun week because it seems like overnight the puppies hit some major milestones!
They can now regulate their body temperatures and are beginning to get up on their feet and take their very first very wobbly steps.🥰
They are beginning to be aware of and interact with their littermates and their mom and are learning about their environment.
Their eyes are open and their sight is developing as well as their senses of hearing and smell.
We will be introducing sounds and objects this week.
We will expose the puppies to all kinds of sounds: lawnmowers, blow dryers, crying babies, fireworks, etc. This process helps them learn that new things aren’t bad or something that should make them fearful.
We will also begin very early potty training this week by defining a designated potty area and sleep area. The puppies instinctively know that they aren’t supposed to go potty were they sleep, so by setting up (even at this very young age) a designated potty area it sets the groundwork for the potty training we start outside in later weeks.
This might be one of my favorite weeks because now that we can see everybody’s eyes it really starts to feel like we get to know each pup for their individual quirks and personalities, all of their sweet little expressions are just so precious to see! Here they are at 3 weeks old Foxy’s America the Beautiful litter!
Foxys puppies are 2 weeks old and growing so fast! Eyes and ears are still closed but we expect to start to seeing the first signs of them opening any day now! They are not up on all fours yet, but they are really getting good at scooting! We’re even starting to hear little barks from a few of them as they begin to find their voice. 💕
We are still weighing them regularly the smallest ones for now are,
Stripes💙,Freedom💚 and Glory💗 the three biggest in the group are Patriot🤎 America❤️ and Liberty🤍.
The pups will complete ENS this week and the results will last the puppies a lifetime.
They will continue to get individual cuddle sessions each day so that they get used to being handled on a regular basis.
As part of our puppy socialization, we will also introduce at least one new object or tactile item in the whelping box each day. This will help enrich their world with new experiences, textures, smells, sights, and sounds. During the socialization period, we will be exposing them to as many new things and experiences as we can and once their hearing comes in later in the week, we will begin sound desensitization.
Here they are at 2 weeks old…. The America the Beautiful Litter!!!
Foxys pups are 1 week old today and we couldn't think of a more appropriate theme then one that honors this special holiday... introducing Foxys 's America The Beautiful Litter! For the girls we have Liberty, Glory, Star, Justice, and America, and the boys are, Honor, Patriot, Freedom and Stripes.
Everyone is doing great! At this age the pups eat, and then they sleep, and then they wake up eat some more and then go back to sleep. 😊
The colors of the pups are just beautiful, 2 of the boys (Stripes and Freedom) look like they will take after their handsome daddy, Leo. A few look like they will look like Mama with her deep rich red coat, and it appears we will have a few caramels as well. We cant wait to watch these pups as they continue to grow and their coats continue to develop. Eyes and ears are closed, and will stay that way until sometime around the end of week 2.
We hold and massage the pups daily and have started Early Neurological Stimulation which will continue through day 16. ENS is a process that introduces mild stresses to the puppies in a controlled way. These stresses help stimulate the neurological system which improves the growth & development of the puppies’ immune system, cardiovascular system, and stress tolerance. All of this helps set puppy up for a healthier more well adjusted future. 💕
We hope everyone stays safe and has a relaxing a blessed 4th of July weekend. Here they are, at 1 week old The AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL LITTER!
Officially announcing the arrival of Foxy‘s summer litter!
Foxy’s Pups arrived late Friday night June 27th and into the early hours of Saturday morning.
We are so proud of mama. She did an amazing job delivering her litter of 9 pups!
Team girl won out just slightly with five girls and four boys. Colors become more apparent as the pups get older but the coloring on this litter is beautiful!
