The big day has arrived! Today is puppy selection day!!! Thank you so much to our families on our list for your patience I wanted to make sure I had all the info before we posted our pupdate.
This is the fun, but also I’m sure very difficult part because each puppy is smart, loves to cuddle, and the whole group is absolutely ADORABLE!🥰
I can say that everyone did great and we had a lot of very similar scores across the board for temperament testing.
I always recommend regardless of which puppy you choose to get them into a training class or individual 1 on 1’s. If you are local to the upland area we will always recommend Torrie from its only love training. (Those that are local will get her card in their go home baggie.)
The pups had a very busy morning. Everyone met with Torrie for their temperament assessment and everyone did really well. Below you will find a little bit about each pup along with their weights today, and their 7 week photo.
Here they are at 7 weeks Foxy’s Ninja Turtles!!!🥷🐢 💕
-AVAILABLE-
Donny scored just about all 3’s with just a single 4
Again, we were surprised with Donny’s weight. Donny weighed in at 6lbs on the dot making him one of the smaller boys. Donny should grow to be in the 20-30lb range. He has that cute brown nose making him a caramel and some gorgeous white markings.
Donny is going to be alot of fun for his new family. He is playful and definitely has that goof ball attitude. Donny will definitely thrive in an environment where he can have lots of socialization and meet new people. Donny will do really well with training and should pickup on things quickly.
-AVAILABLE-
Venus scored mostly 3’s and had a couple 2’s and a couple 4’s
Today Venus weighed 6.5lbs and will probably be around 20-30lbs grown. Venus, like her brother Donny ended up with the brown nose. She has a beautiful solid caramel coat, and gorgeous green eyes.
Venus is a fun sweet girl she is playful and enjoys rolling around with her brothers, but also really enjoys interacting with us humans. Venus is very bright and eager to please, and will do really well with training. She will likely pickup quickly to new commands.
Splinter scored half 3’s and half 4’s
Splinter surprised us a bit today weighing in at 6.4lbs gaining a full pound over his brother Raph. Looking at his body structure I still think size wise he will end up being pretty small, just maybe a bit more stocky. I estimate him to be around 20-30lbs grown.
Splinter looks a lot like his mama, he is going to have that gorgeous deep red coat.
Splinter has been an interesting boy to watch, he definitely enjoys playing with his siblings but also enjoys sitting on the sidelines and watching, or observing. He is a super smart pup and will do really well with training. He loves to snuggle. Just one look at this boy, and he has you with those eyes!
Raph scored mostly 3’s and 4’s on his temperment testing.
Raphael is the littlest guy in the group, today he weighed 5.2lbs and will likely be close to 20-25lbs grown.
Raph is a stunner with his deep red coat and adorable white markings.
Raphael is a playful sweet boy. He loves playing with his siblings and would do fine with another dog in the house or puppy playdates? Raph is well rounded, very intelligent, and loves to snuggle. He should be fairly adaptable and will do well with just about any living situation. He loves kids and is an all around friendly happy little guy.
Mikey scored mostly 3’s with a couple 4’s.
Mikey weighed the most today at 7lbs exactly and is officially the biggest in the litter. He should grow to be about 30-35lbs.
He has a black nose and a gorgeous super thick fluffy apricot coat.
Mikey is a confident happy go lucky boy. He is very social and is usually the first to come up and great new people. Mikey will thrive in an environment where he can continue to socialize, meet new people, other dogs, and explore the world!
Leo scored mostly 3’s with a few 4’s
Leo is not far behind his brother Mikey and weighed in at 6.9lbs I estimate Leo to grow to be about 25-30lbs grown.
He has some nice white markings along with a handsome cream/apricot coat.
Leo is more laid back than some of his siblings. Mid-low energy. Leo is super smart but also very sweet and gentle and will make a great snuggle buddy for someone.
Casey scored mostly 3’s but also had a couple 4’s and a single 6 when is came to sound sensitivity.
Casey weighed 6.3 lbs making him one of the smaller guys. He should grow to be about 20-30lbs. Casey's nose is taking its time, but should end up being all black. Casey has a gorgeous apricot and white tuxedo coat making him look like a real life teddy bear.
He is the leader of the group. He definitely takes command with his siblings and lets them know he’s in charge. We’ve observed him a bit with our older dogs (mama, grandma, and big sister) who are all on the property and he does really well playing with them.
Casey likes to be in charge with his siblings but, when it comes to humans he immediately turns into a sweet little angel. When picked up he melts in your arms. Casey is curious, confident, playful and fun, he is also super smart and will do really well with training. Early socialization with other doggies will be super beneficial for him.
April scored mostly 3’s with a few 5’s and a couple 4’s
April weighed 6.13lbs today and will probably grow to be about 30-35lbs April has a very thick fluffy apricot coat, like her brother Mikey.
April is a sweet gentle girl. She is not as interested in jumping into the mix with her siblings and usually is looking for a good lap to cuddle in. April is lower energy she is usually one of the last to go outside and one of the first to be ready to come inside. April will probably bond quickly to her special someone and will definitely have a strong connection to her person.
Yesterday was so busy, but so much fun! The Pups started their day extra early, everyone got a bath, brush and blowout, followed by nail trims. They got to experience being on our grooming table, everyone did absolutely amazing. Foxy and Leo make such easy going, sweet, gentle little cuties.
The Pups were so excited to meet some of the wonderful families that will be taking them home in just a few weeks. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting each one of you, and we know that these pups have some absolutely lovely families waiting to bring them home. When we started doing these 6 week puppy visits, our hope was that it would help families narrow down their selection, but it seems like it just makes the whole process harder! How do you choose between 8 absolutely amazing puppies!? There is really no wrong choice, as each one of these babies is super, sweet, cuddly, and absolutely adorable.
We had lots of playtime this week, the pups are really doing great with potty training. We get them outside often for potty and playtime. As some of you experienced yesterday, the pups have about 45 mins-1hr of energy before they are ready for a nice nap. They nap a lot at this age! The pups are doing wonderful with crate training, just about everyone is happy to climb into their spot for a cozy nap. We are slowly working on weening them from Mama. Foxy is just a gentle and nurturing Mama I think she would nurse them forever if we let her.
Coming up this week the pups will go to the vet, get their first set of shots and a checkup, and they will meet with our trainer for their temperament assessment. Official puppy selection will be next week. We will post the pups 7 week photos, along with their weights, temperament testing results, and a little more about each pup. They will be ready to go to their families in just 2 short weeks! Here they are at 6 weeks, Foxys Ninja Turtles!
Foxys ninja turtles are 5 weeks old!!!
So many exciting things happened this week. The group is now taking daily trips outside, and has started eating puppy mush.
We’ve also added 2 crates to their puppy pen, we leave the door open for now, the idea is to get them used to the crate, and have them associate it with a happy positive space that they can call their own. It’s so cute to see all 8 of them cuddle up in 1 leaving the 2nd crate completely empty as if it’s not even there. They love snuggling up close to eachother. Personalities have really started to show.
Sweet Leonardo, Michelangelo, and April are gentle little cuddle bugs. Raphael, Casey, Donatello and Venus are very social, and Little Master Splinter could not have been more appropriately named. He has this gentle calmness to him, during group photo time earlier in the week, he sat patiently, perfectly posed waiting for the rest of the group to get it together. 😂
Donatello is definitely going to be a lot of fun for his family, as he has already started to show a lot of goof ball tendencies. We had so much fun this week with the group! This coming week we will continue to take the pups outside regularly for play and potty time, and we will begin to introduce short nap times 2 to a crate with the door closed. Eventually working them up to being comfortable and cozy inside the crate for nap time all on their own! We will be having our puppy visit day next Saturday. We are so excited for our families to finally meet this amazing bunch!
It is hard to believe that Foxy's puppies are 4 weeks old and already halfway through their time with us. They are growing fast! The puppies are now playing for short times in between naps and eating. They are walking (a little wobbly still), wagging their tails, and mimicking the sounds they hear. We even hear some barking sounds as they play with each other. The little guys Splinter, Raphael, and Casey are especially vocal. Not only are they playing with their litter mates, but they are beginning to play with toys. They will have their first adventure outside later this week and begin on puppy mush. Now is about the time that their little personalities will really start to show. As part of our puppy socialization, we are continuing to expose them to as many new objects and experiences by introducing at least one new object or tactile item in their puppy pen each day. This will help enrich their world with new experiences, textures, smells, sights, and sounds. This group seems to get cuter every week. Its confirmed that both Donatello and Venus will have brown noses, the rest will be black. Here they are at 4 weeks, the cutest little Ninja Turtles around!
* For those on our reservation list, be sure to check your email for a few reminders about upcoming dates, a few things to note, and important information on our upcoming puppy visit which is in just 2 weeks!
Foxy’s puppies are 3 weeks old and everyone's eyes are opened! These guys are just the cutest sweetest bunch. Sweet Foxy Mama continues to do a wonderful job keeping everyone clean and well fed. The puppies can now regulate their body temperature and are beginning to find their voices. We love to hear their little noises! They are getting up on their feet but still quite wobbly. They are aware of and interact with their littermates and mama. They are beginning to play with their littermates and learning about their environment. Another huge milestone, the puppies can now hear!
We will be introducing sounds and objects this week. Exposing the puppies to all kinds of sounds: lawnmowers, blow dryers, crying babies, fireworks, etc. This process helps them learn that new things aren’t bad or something that should make them fearful. The pictures speak for themselves, these babies are so precious, here they are at 3 weeks Foxy’s Ninja Turtles!
Foxy’s Ninja Turtles are 2 weeks old! Mama and babies are doing wonderful.
A couple big milestones that should happen this week; we should start to see their eyes begin to open, and, they are now beginning to get up on their feet as they prepare to walk!
We noticed today on April O’Neal that we can see just the slightest little peek of an eye beginning to open! By the end of this week we should see just about everyone’s eyes opened.
The pups are moving much more now too! Sweet little Casey Jones got up on all 4’s yesterday and moved himself from where the group was sleeping to a separate area to go potty.
It’s super early, but this is the very beginning of potty training for the pups. Puppies instinctively want to keep their sleeping area clean so as they begin to walk they begin to instinctively move away from their sleep area to relieve themselves. This week we will be adding a potty area to their whelping pin, to help them establish a proper area for going potty.
When we pair Foxy with Leo they have a chance at having pups with black or brown pigmentation (black noses and footpads or brown noses and footpads).
It’s still a bit early, but, It’s looking like both Venus and Donatello will have Brown pigmentation. The rest are looking like black.
We will be wrapping up ENS at the beginning of the week. We continue to weigh each pup daily, not much of a change to report there. Master Splinter and Raphael are probably going to stay the little guys in the group. Here the cuties are at 2 weeks, Foxy’s Ninja Turtles!
Cowabunga!!!
We’ve wanted to do this one for a while but have never had enough boys to do it, so, naturally when Foxy delivered 2 girls and 6 boys we knew what the theme had to be.
Not too much to report for the group this week. They are doing exactly what they are supposed to (eating and sleeping).
We have started ENS and are weighing the pups daily.
April and Venus, the two girls are also the two largest in the group. As of now Master Splinter is the smallest. Such beautiful colors we are so excited to watch this group as they grow!
We are so proud of Foxy Mama, she is doing a wonderful job caring for her new pups!
...Here they are, Foxy's Ninja Turtle Litter!
Foxys pups have arrived! Late friday evening Foxy gave birth to 8 beautfiul pups. We started with 1 girl and then 6 boys came all in a row! The last pup to complete this crew was another girl. Mama and babies are doing wonderful. We will post our litter theme and officially introduce each pup at our 1 week pupdate!
