It took a little time to get this final pupdate up but i wanted to make sure I had all the pups official names to include. It also gave us a little time to settle in after the busy end of the year. We are so happy to say that everyone made it to their furever homes by christmas and all seem to be settling in with their families nicely. So heres a little on each pup and their new family!
We met the Palacios when they came to help Mom/ Grandma pick up her pup from our "Bunny Litter". After falling in love with Honey Bunny (we cant blame them, we did too) the Palacios decided they wanted to add a new pup to their family too. They found a perfect match with Sleeping Beauty, her name is now Dixie and she is adjusting so well to her new home. She has 4 human siblings that adore her and shower her with lots of love. She will also enjoy visits with her big sister Honey!
The Parish's fell in love with Moana. Inspired by their recent time spent in Italy they decided to name her Zucca (which means pumpkin in italian). Shes bonding nicely with her family "She is so playful happy and adorable" her family says of her.
Zucca is a bright little girl and has already learned "sit", "down", "come" and is working on "leave it" and "stay"
The Walkers chose to add 2 puppies from this litter to their family. They chose such a nice duo, Prince and Snow were the lucky 2 and they are now Thor and Love. We are so happy that these two will grow up together, along with their human big sister.
Charming was so excited to meet his family The Momayas! His name is now Obelix. You can follow Obelix on his very own instagram @obelix.thedog to keep up with him.
Jasmine, got her Christmas wish and on Christmas day met her furever family the Friedlers! Her name is now Ellie and she couldn't be happier to be with such a sweet loving family.
*Belle is doing wonderful, she is learning her commands and enjoys spending time with our children (mostly our 8 year old) and us. Her favorite passtime is chasing her Mama around (and driving her mama a little bit nuts hah!).
*We will have more on Belle under "our girls" section of our website soon.
This is the final pupdate before these sweeties go home, we have lots to report as we stayed very busy this week.
They had many new experiences, we went on car rides, visited the vet, and met the trainer for their puppy evaluations! This bunch is overall just a chill group, no one had any issues in the car and everyone did great at the vet. Nothing unusual to report, as everyone got their first set of shots, microchip, and a clean bill of health from our Veterinarian. We officially have everyone in their own individual crate for nap times, we have very few criers most are quite content climbing into their little spot to rest. Everyone has a pretty good understanding that we go outside to potty, although not mastered we feel really good with where they are at with this very important skill.
We really are going to miss this group, they have been such a joy.
Here they are at 7 weeks with their temperament scores, weights, and little more about each one of these sweet babies.
Sleeping Beauty reminds us so much of her mama!
She has such a great balance of playfully curious, cuddly and relaxed. I would say her energy level is moderate as she loves to play but is usually one of the first pups ready to settle in. She loves to snuggle and be held.
Sleeping Beauty is one of our smaller girls and has a more slender frame. Her weight as of friday was 7.5 lbs. She will probably end up being closer to her mamas size at around 35-40lbs
Sleeping Beauty did great on her temperament test scoring mostly 3's with a few 4's.
She would do fine in a home with other dogs and would be ok in a home with children. Sleeping Beauty loves to play but is a bit more on the timid side. If in a home with young children they would need to be taught to give puppy breaks, as she can get overwhelmed with too much excitement.
Sweet Charming, he was born last and really took the role of being the baby of the group seriously. Charming is such a sweet boy, he has so much love to give and will probably attach very quickly to his family. He really loves being held and will need lots of love and attention from his new family. Charming will do well with consistency and training.
Charming is the biggest in the group weighing in at 9 lbs. He will probably grow to be in that 50 lb range.
Charming was a bit all over the place with his test, he scored 2's 4's and 5's on his evaluation. Our trainer noted that she thought he would do well in a home with another dog since he does seem to be emotionally dependent. If not with another dog, he will do well with a family that wants to spend a great deal of time with him, taking him out, walks, parks, travel etc. he really just craves social interaction.
Snow White is such a relaxed girl. She has such a sweet and gentle disposition that we absolutely adore! Snowy, (as we've been calling her) is one of the pups that really enjoys climbing into her crate to settle after playtime. She is great at eye contact and oftentimes we will be outside with the group watching them play, only to look down right in front of us and see her calmly sitting at out feet.
Snow White is the biggest girl by just a little bit, weighing in at 8.4 lbs she will probably be around 45 lbs grown.
Snow White scored mostly 3's with a few 2's on her temperament test. Snow White is such a smart sweet adaptable girl and will probably do well with just about any family situation.
Moana is another one that reminds us alot of mama. She has this beautiful cream coat with the cutest dark apricot ears. Moana started out being the most shy in the group and over the weeks we watched her transform into a confident happy little girl! Although not the heaviest, she has beautiful long legs and because of that stands a bit taller than her siblings. Moana weighed 7.9 lbs at her vet visit.
She scored mostly 2's and 3's on her temperament test. She is a smart, confident, happy girl. Moana will thrive in a home with proper training and will enjoy going on regular walks with her family.
Prince is the perfect little gentleman. Probably the most laid back in the group, Prince is just cool, calm and collected. He loves his crate, enjoys being cuddled and will probably grow to be the perfect 50 lb lapdog hah! Prince was right behind his brother in weight, weighing in at 8.96 lbs. Prince has a beautiful dark apricot full fluffy coat. He scored 3's and 4's with a couple 5's on his evaluation. Prince is lower energy than his siblings, nothing really seems to phase him he is one "chill dood".
Oh sweet little Jasmine, she may be the smallest in the group but she has a big personality! Jasmine has lots of energy she is such a silly and sweet girl! She absolutely loves kids, playing with toys and exploring.
Jasmine weighed in at 7.4 lbs and scored almost all 3's with a couple 4's on her temperament test. Jasmine will do well in a home with children, where she can run around and play right along with them. She is super smart and inquisitive and will probably pick up on commands very quickly with proper training.
As you know, we planned to hold back 1 female from this group it was not an easy decision which is just a testament to how great this group is. We wish we could keep them all! After much consideration we have decided that Belle will stay with us! Once she has passed all her health testing, and is old enough, we are hopeful that she will be able to carry on the Kings Labradoodles legacy her mama has started and become a mama herself one day!.
It’s hard to believe our Once Upon A Time Litter is 6 weeks old! Their time with us is going by so fast and we are so happy with the progress everyone is making. We are seeing lots of independence from mama now, and lots of attention on us which is great. Mama is still with them regularly but now it’s more to play and oversee that everyone is getting along. When we open the door for outside time, we are really impressed with how most everyone seems to know it’s time to go potty right away. A great start to their potty training journey. Crate training has been going really well, most enjoy climbing into their cozy spot after a long playtime outside. We introduced the pups to a grooming table today! After baths everyone had a nice blow dry, brush out, and nails clipped. Most everyone is comfortable on the grooming table and enjoys getting all clean and fluffy. They are such a cuddly bunch of cuties! Next week we will have temperament assessments done and we will include those results with our 7 week pupdate.
Elsa’s puppies are 5 weeks old! We stayed busy this week, with regular trips outside to go potty and play. They’ll play for about 30 minutes and then they are ready for a little snooze.
As we continue to ween them they start to focus less on Mama Elsa and more on us humans. It’s a normal transition and we love when they start to engage more with us as they are starting to do!
We officially started crate training this week! We introduced a couple crates, leaving the door open they are able to explore and settle inside in a non threatening or scary way. This week and next is really just about getting the pups used to the idea of a crate, that its not something to be feared, but a quiet private space just for them! It’s been a few days now, and most climb right into the crate after playtime and settle down for a nap.
We will add a couple more crates at the end of this week and by about 7 weeks we will have each pup getting used to being in a crate alone. Something some pups take to right away, and others take a bit of time to get used to.
We are so happy with how this litter is coming along. This is such a sweet group! . Here they are at 5 weeks.
Elsa’s Once Upon A Time Litter is 4 weeks old! Its hard to believe our time with this bunch is already halfway over. In just 4 more weeks they will go to their furever homes! It was such a big week for these pups, we worked a lot on sound desensitization and will continue that into next week. They have become so much more mobile over the week and when not eating or sleeping are often wrestling and playing with eachother. We posted a short video on our Instagram if you haven’t seen it, go check it out.
Today was a huge milestone for them because it was time to go outside for the first time! They were so ready and loved exploring all the new sights, sounds, and of course, smells the outside has to offer. Jasmine, the smallest is quite a confident little adventurer, she especially loved exploring, as did Belle, Snow, and Moana. Sleeping Beauty was excited to try out the new toys, shes quite the playful little girl. The boys, Charming and Prince, on the other hand are very much mamas boys and wanted to stay close to Elsa at first. All in all, everyone enjoyed the field trip outside, something that will now become part of their daily routine from here on out.
Today was the start of lots of exciting things, they also had their first taste of puppy food! We have officially begun the weening process. Moana who is a little more reserved than the rest was a little apprehensive about the food, it took a little coaxing but she got the hang of it. The rest dug right in and thoroughly enjoyed their first meal.
Later this week we will introduce a crate. Here they are at 4 weeks our Once Upon A Time Litter!
Elsa’s Once Upon A Time Litter is 3 weeks old and doing fabulous. As you can see from the pictures, everyone’s eyes are opened! Their vision will continue to develop for the next 5 weeks but now that they are starting to see they are interacting more with eachother.
The puppies are so calm and relaxed when picked up, a sign that the bio sensor training has done its job.
We will start exposing them to new sounds since they can now hear, the goal is to help them develop a healthy emotional response to different sounds. Helping them develop a startle recovery is a big one that we will work on this week as the initial onset of fear has not yet set in for the pups. We expose them to a new startle/upsetting noise every day (pots clanging, fireworks popping, a baby crying, a blow dryer etc) studies show that puppies that learn to recover from unexpected stimuli during week 3 and 4 of their lives are better equipped to handle unexpected or surprising situations later in life.
I’ve had a few people ask about colors and as of now Snow and Jasmine are the lightest and will probably be cream colored. Prince and Bell are on the darker end and will probably be closer to a dark apricot. Moana, and Charming are in the middle and will probably have beautiful golden coats, and Sleeping Beauty looks to have a pretty apricot coat with some white markings.
We’re having so much fun with these cuties and are looking forward to the weeks ahead.
Look at these precious little sleepy heads! Everyone gets a full belly and then they are ready to snuggle up for a nice nap time. This week we continued with Bio Sensor training, everyone continues to gain weight well, Jasmine is still the littlest, Charming and Belle are the biggest. We are just now starting to see the beginning of eyes opening, as you see in some of the individual pictures. By the end of this week everyone's eyes should be opened, such an exciting time and an important milestone! The pups are starting to scoot about their pen more, its so fun to watch the littler ones like Jasmine and Moana who are already up on all fours and taking their first steps. Not much else to report, everyone is in great health and doing exactly what they are supposed to.
We have 5 beautiful Princesses and 2 Handsome Princes! Elsa's babies started bio sensor training this week which will make them stronger, more resilient pups. We weigh each pup daily to make sure all are eating enough and no one is falling behind. There are some size differences but everyone is gaining daily which is exactly what we want to see at this age. Keeping in mind that coat colors and weights can change a lot, Prince is so far looking to be the darkest and is smaller than his brother Charming . Sleeping Beauty, the first born has a white marking on her head, Sweet little Jasmine was the smallest at birth and continues to be the smallest at our daily weigh ins. Belle is the big girl for now and has a slightly darker coat than her sisters. Everyone is doing wonderful lots of eating and sleeping at this early age. These little sweeties couldn't ask for a better Mama, she is doing a fantastic job keeping everyone clean, warm, and fed.
Early Sunday morning our sweet mama gave birth to 7 beautiful babies! 5 girls and 2 boys. Colors can lighten and darken as they grow, but these pups should be in varying colors of cream, apricot, and gold. We expect them to grow to be 35-50 lbs and have beautiful soft fleece coats. Mama and babies are doing well. More pics and litter theme will be announced at the 1 week update!
